My wife, Mai and I came to Grand Cane Baptist Church in January of 2012. We have been married for 51 years and have two daughters, three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. We enjoy fishing and I can be talked into an occasional round of golf.

Our greatest joy in the ministry is seeing people grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, getting connected to the work of the ministry and the mission of the church. I feel our Lord's return for the church is near so we must "be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."

Associate Pastor/Worship Leader

My wife Alix & I moved to Grand Cane in 2010 and were immediately drawn in by the love of the people at Grand Cane Baptist Church, a truth faith-family exemplifying the Tribe of Jesus! We count it a joy & blessing to serve here with our other great staff members and leadership. We enjoy

Sci-fi TV & movies, British detective sleuths, and anything involving time travel. We love to read books and explore book stores. My favorite moments are those at worship with the church and teaching/preaching the scriptures. Alix is my best friend, fellow time traveler, and an excellent VBS director. We love listening to Brandon Lake, Red Rocks Worship, Phil Wickham, Chris Tomlin, and many others worshiping together in our home.

Galatians 2:20 moves me to personal growth in Christ and helping others toward spiritual formation, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." 

Children's Director

Hello! 3 years ago, I graduated from East Texas Baptist University where I majored in Speech Communication with a focus in Children's Ministry and a minor in Missions. I have two brothers, one of which is my twin. I love hanging out with friends, traveling, cooking, photography, watching Gilmore Girls, & I especially love children. My favorite food is anything chicken & my weakness is M&M's, Dr. Pepper, & Sweet Tea. I have attended Grand Cane Baptist Church since I was 2 months old & have been apart of the children's department in different ways since I can remember. I feel so incredibly blessed & honored to be able to work along side some incredible people, in my home church, doing what I have enjoyed doing for years.

Matthew 19:14 states, "But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me & do not hinder them, for to such belongs the Kingdom of Heaven." With this verse in mind, it is my desire & honor to be a part in showing these precious children about the Lord & what all He is doing within the church & outside of the church!

Youth Director

Hi! My name is Ashley & my husband is Nathan. We have three beautiful children; Adalynn, Landon, & Everett. We are very family oriented & love spending time together at home or out and about. We have been at Grand Cane Baptist Church since 2012 & have always loved the warm & inviting atmosphere here. From the beginning we have always felt at home at Grand Cane Baptist. In the summer of 2022, God was calling me to the youth ministry. With a lot of prayer between my husband and I, we said yes!

November 2022, my husband I were officially youth interim. We have always had a huge heart for teenagers. They are our future right now & need love & caring guidance in a Christ centered atmosphere to help them face the crazy world out there. We feel so honored to serve these sweet kiddos.

Our goal is to disciple, love & meet them where they are in this very moment to guide them towards Jesus. With open arms & a loving heart, we are hopeful for this generation. One of my favorite Bible verses is Colossians 3:23. It states, "work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."

Nursery Director

I came to Grand Cane Baptist Church in 2012 & love the family-friendly atmosphere here. You can really feel the love & family support. I have been volunteering in church nursery since I became a Christian. I love taking care of & playing with the babies and little ones. I feel the nursery is a very important ministry at Grand Cane Baptist Church, as scripture declares, "anyone who welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not only me but also my Father who sent me." - Mark 9:37
